Open 7 days a week Mon to Fri 6am - 10.30pm Sat and Sun 7am - 9pm Ayrshire’s only indoor tennis, badminton and fitness club

Following confirmation this week from the Government that we will be moving to Level 3 restrictions, we are delighted to confirm that we are able to open our building once again from Monday 26th April.  This means that both our gym and indoor tennis courts will re-open.

Thank you for your patience over the last four months and we look forward to welcoming back our fitness members, and those tennis members who have not been able to play outside in recent weeks.

The café will also be open from Monday.

Gym Booking Procedures and Classes

We have made a few changes to the booking system for gym members which make the booking of sessions more flexible, whilst still maintaining the maximum permitted numbers using the gym at any one time. The safety of our gym members remains our top priority and our gym manager, Allan Bell will shortly be issuing further instructions for booking the gym ready for opening on Monday.

At the moment, group gym classes inside are still not permitted and we will therefore be continuing to offer classes either outside on our temporary fitness area, or online.

Unfortunately, we require to continue to use the indoor court at the far side of the building (court 8) as an extension to the gym until such times as social distancing measures are no longer required. Hopefully, it will not be too long before this is the case.

Indoor Court Usage

From Monday, singles and doubles play is permitted indoors. All players must ensure they maintain social distancing at all times where they are not from the same household or extended household. Please note that we are not able to offer adult group coaching classes inside at this time, although we can provide group classes to our junior members (U18s).

The toilets will be open, but unfortunately our changing rooms and shower facilities will remain closed for the time being. This also is the case for the viewing gallery above the courts.

Court Bookings and Payment

We will be fully re-opening our reception area on Monday and we will therefore be able to accept bookings at the counter or over the phone during the following hours:

Monday to Friday:                         9am to 10pm

Saturday and Sunday:                  9am to 8.30pm

It remains our preference that payment for courts is made over the phone when booking to minimise the need to take payment at the reception area at the time of play.   Also, wherever possible payment is to be made by debit/credit cards to minimise the use of cash transactions.

The existing one-way system throughout the building will remain for the time being and we will still require face masks to be worn inside the building. A reminder of the Covid safe procedures for using the indoor courts is detailed below.

Again, thank you all for your patience over recent months. It is encouraging that the world appears to be moving towards a bit more normality and it will be great to see our gym members back in the building on Monday working off any excesses resulting from lockdown!

The opening of the indoor courts will enable us to expand our tennis programme back to near normality, with the exception of adult group class participants who will need to suffer the vagaries of our West of Scotland weather patterns for a wee bit longer!

Thank you for your continued support.

Use of Tennis Courts – Level 3 Covid Rules:

Arrival and Departure

We ask players to arrive at the centre close to their booking time to minimise congestion in the building.

In view of present circumstances, we request that players use the hand sanitiser provided before and after play and leave their court through the allocated exit point five minutes before the end of their playing session (e.g. players booked between 2pm and 3pm to leave the court by 2.55pm to enable the court to be clear for the next participants)

All players to enter the building through the main entrance.

Players booked on Courts 5 and 6 enter the courts through the first door opposite the partitioned area/temporary exit.

Players booked on Court 7 enter the courts through the door opposite the disabled toilet.

Players on Court 5 to exit the building through the fire doors nearest the reception area on court 5

Players on Courts 6 and 7 to exit the courts through the fire doors at the red courts middle of the building.

Players using the toilets require to exit and return using the doors from which they entered the courts.

Hand sanitiser units will be situated at all entrances and exit points in the indoor court area.

Face masks to be worn at all times in the building when players are not within the indoor courts area. The only exception to this is the café area where face masks will not require to be worn.

Players should adhere to the Scottish Government’s social distancing guidelines within the building (staying at least 2m away from others). Unfortunately, the changing rooms and viewing gallery will remain closed in the meantime.

Players must use their own equipment and ensure that all belongings are removed at the end of their session. Players do not require to use their own marked tennis balls. However if you chose to use shared balls, then extra care should be taken to ensure that you do not touch your face during play.

Please familiarise yourself with the LTA “play safe guidelines” which can be viewed on the LTA website.
