Safeguarding Policy 

Prestwick Tennis and Fitness is committed to prioritising the well-being of all children and adults at risk, promoting safeguarding in our club at all times, including all programmes and events we run.  This Policy strives to minimise risk, deliver a positive tennis experience for everyone and respond appropriately to all safeguarding concerns/disclosures.

Check you have the relevant consent from parents/carers, children and adults before taking or using photos and videos. 

Ensure your own roles and responsibilities, and those of everyone you are responsible for are clearly outlined and everyone has the information, training and support to carry them out.   

Where possible, do not be alone with a child or adult at risk.

Do not abuse, neglect, harm or discriminate against anyone; or act in a way that may be interoperated as such.

Doing nothing is NOT an option: report all concerns and disclosures as soon as possible, following the Concern Reporting Procedure.

If someone is in immediate danger, call the police (101).

Safe and Inclusive Code of Conduct

All employees, those under contractual arrangements, club officials, volunteers, members and others using the club facilities are required to abide by the Code of Conduct. This is required in order to support the club in providing a welcoming and safe environment for all children and young people and in the implementation of its child protection policy and procedures.

Those working in the club should at all times:

Prioritise the well-being of all children and adults at all times.

Be a positive role model.  Act with integrity, even when no one is looking.

Help to creaet a safe and inclusive environment both on and off court and promote the Fair Play values: enjoy: respect.

Value and celebrate diversity and make all reasonable efforts to meet individual needs.

Keep cleaer boundaries between your professional and personal life, including on social media.

  • Financial information, (which may include Direct Debit details.)
  • Certain other information which you volunteer when making use of your membership benefits (for example, when making court bookings or making use of other Prestwick Tennis & Fitness facilities).

We may also collect data about your health or medical conditions, where you have volunteered this, for example so that we can cater for you when you attend a social event or a course/camp/ gym.

  • Administration of Prestwick Tennis & Fitness membership, including:
    o informing you about Prestwick Tennis & Fitness policies and rules, court / facilities opening hours;
    o taking payment of membership fees;

  • Providing Prestwick Tennis & Fitness members with contact details of other members to facilitate team and social match play.   • Administration of the Wimbledon ballot;
  • Where this is necessary for the performance of a contract (including any written terms and conditions relating to your membership) with you;
  • Research and statistical analysis about who is playing tennis, attending classes & the gym at Prestwick Tennis & Fitness;
  • Communication about Prestwick Tennis & Fitness news and activities that we think may be of interest to you;
  • Storing your details on the software platform we use for Prestwick Tennis & Fitness member management database, website and court booking system.
  • Promoting Prestwick Tennis & Fitness and goods and services of relevant third parties (for example operators and organisers of tennis events) where we think this will be of interest to you;

Your marketing preferences

We will always respect your wishes in respect of what type of communications you want to receive from us and how you want to receive them.
